Metro – Tips for Seniors
Metro offers seniors an affordable, convenient and safe means of travel throughout LA County. Go shopping, go to the doctor, visit friends or relatives, and do all this while avoiding traffic or having to rely on someone else to give you a ride. The Metro Gold Line has several stops in Pasadena, then heads for DTLA and connections all over Southern California.

New Freedom Free Taxi Rides
Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department has received funding from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO) to provide transportation throughout the entire Los Angeles County Region. New Freedom Transportation has two specialized programs: Volunteer Driver Mileage Reimbursement Program and Taxicab Services Program are offered at no charge to eligible individuals every month. The free taxi service offers four rides or forty miles per month for people over 65.

South Pasadena Dial-a-Ride
This transportation service is for South Pasadena residents who are over 55 years of age, and/or residents with a disability. Transportation is provided to and from any location within the South Pasadena City limits. For Medical Appointments Only, they can give you a ride to Pasadena, San Marino, Arcadia, San Gabriel and Alhambra. Fee is .50 cents for each way ($1.00 round trip). Registration is required and all rides are by appointment only.

Monrovia Transit for 62+ and Those with Disabilities
Monrovia Transit is GoMonrovia’s transportation option for seniors (age 62+) and passengers with disabilities. Each shuttle van features an ADA-approved wheelchair lift. Rides are offered within the cities of Monrovia and Bradbury, unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County adjacent to Monrovia and Bradbury, as well as to the Duarte Line 861 Bus Stop at Mountain Vista Plaza (near Target) and additional pre-approved facilities in Arcadia and Duarte. Rides are $0.50 each way. All eligible first-time passengers wishing to use this service will need to complete a short, one-time application to register.
